Submission Center – Algiers
Notice – Visa Application for Children under 12
The Spanish Visa Application Center in Algiers informs its valued clients that, starting from April 28, 2025, new procedures will be applied for appointments concerning children under 12 years of age.
Two cases are to be distinguished:
(a) Parents with a joint appointment
If both parents already have a joint appointment for their application submission, their children under 12 may submit their applications on the same day, without needing an additional appointment.

New Appointment Categories (from November 1, 2024)
Starting from November 1, 2024, appointments reserved for dates on or after November 15, 2024 on the BLS International website will be classified into four categories, based on your last Schengen visa:
1. ALG 1
- Individuals who have never obtained a Schengen visa,
- Or whose last visa was issued before 01/01/2020.
2. ALG 2
- Last visa issued after 01/01/2020,
- With a validity of less than 6 months (180 days).
3. ALG 3
- Last visa issued after 01/01/2020,
- With a validity of 6 months to less than 2 years (between 180 and 730 days).
4. ALG 4
- Last visa issued after 01/01/2020,
- With a validity of 2 years or more (730 days and above).
Note:
- For ALG 2, 3 and 4 categories, a copy of the last visa is mandatory on the day of submission.
- If the wrong category is selected, entry to the center will be denied and no refund will be issued.
- Family members (spouse, children, direct ascendants/descendants) may include their applications in the same file, provided each has an appointment, up to a maximum of 8 people.
- If you submit your application the same day as your relatives, you may book only one appointment and include direct ascendants/descendants in the same category.
Beware of Frauds!
- Only use the official website:
The only authorized method to book an appointment is via our website. No intermediary is required.
- Beware of fake social media:
Do not trust any channel other than those indicated by BLS International.
- BLS reserves the right to prosecute:
Any individual or organization spreading false information or harming BLS’s image will face legal sanctions.
- Personal data:
Never share your sensitive data (card numbers, videos, etc.) with third parties.
Visa Application Submission Period
You can submit your visa application up to 6 months before your planned departure date.
Service Fee Payment (from January 10, 2023)
1. Individual Payment (with your own card)
- Payment is made online with your personal CIB or Edahabia card.
- Physical presentation of the card is mandatory on the appointment day.
- Payment with a third-party card will result in appointment cancellation.
2. Family Cases
- Families (spouse, minor children, father, mother) may use one card for payment.
- The cardholder must be present on the day of submission.
- Payments made with a non-compliant third-party card will not be refunded.
Prohibition of Using Third Parties to Book Appointments
- Appointments are free and must be booked personally.
- Using temporary or non-personal email addresses will result in denied entry.
- Providing a fake or agency number will also result in service refusal.
Family Booking Module
- The “FAMILY” appointment is strictly reserved for ascendant/descendant families.
- The family booklet must be presented on the day of submission.
- A family record in French/Spanish is mandatory at the time of submission.
Processing of Schengen Visa Applications
- All civil status documents must be original and translated into French or Spanish.
- Any document forgery will result in immediate rejection and be reported to all Schengen countries.

Passport Collection
The passport must be collected exclusively by the applicant.
However, two exceptions are allowed:
1. Collection by one of the parents (for family group applications):
- The parent must have been part of the group submission.
- Must present the family booklet and original deposit receipts.
2. Collection by an authorized third party:
- An original power of attorney for passport collection, signed and authenticated at the civil registry, is required.
- A copy of the authorized person’s ID must also be provided.
Visa Applicants Information
Submission Center – Oran
1. Walk-in Submission – Eligible Categories from August 1, 2025
The following applicants may submit their visa requests without an appointment:
- Holders of a Schengen visa issued by Spain after January 1, 2022, with a validity of 2 years or more.
- Parents and in-laws (father/mother only) of Spanish citizens residing in Spain, from June 22, 2025, upon presenting the following documents:
- Passport or DNI of the Spanish citizen (child),
- Birth certificate or family record proving the relationship (legalized + translated),
- Marriage certificate or proof of relationship for in-laws,
- Invitation letter issued by the Spanish police (dated within 3 months),
- Applicant’s passport.
- Algerian university personnel (teachers, researchers, PhD students, etc.) invited for a short professional stay:
- Invitation letter from a Spanish university (dated within 3 months),
- Proof of employment or university enrollment certificate (dated within 3 months),
- Internship or training certificate,
- Passport.
Important: Family members of these applicants must book an appointment via the BLS website.
2. New Criteria for Civil Status Documents – From August 1, 2025
All civil status documents (birth, marriage, death certificates, family booklet...) must be:
- Legalized by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
- Translated into Spanish if written in another language.
3. National Visa – Studies and Family Reunification
From July 20, 2025, national visa applications for studies or family reunification (general regime) will be submitted exclusively at the Oran center.
- Appointments available daily at 8 p.m. from July 5, 2025.
- The appointment type must exactly match the nature of the application.
- No exceptions will be made.
4. Schengen Appointment Categorization – Effective November 1, 2024
Appointments will be categorized based on the last Schengen visa obtained:
- ORAN 1: Never had a Schengen visa, or visa issued before 2020
- ORAN 2: Visa issued after 01/01/2020, valid < 6 months
- ORAN 3: Visa issued after 01/01/2020, valid between 6 months and < 2 years
- ORAN 4: Visa issued after 01/01/2020, valid 2 years or more
A copy of the last visa is mandatory for ORAN 2, 3 and 4.
Important: Choosing the wrong category will result in denied entry without refund.
5. Family Appointment Booking
- An appointment is mandatory for each child under 12.
- It is possible to book for up to 8 members of the same family.
Exception – Oran center only:
Parents holding a valid Spanish visa of more than 3 months can submit visa requests for their minor children (under 18) without an appointment.
6. Appointment Booking Modifications via BLS – From April 6, 2025
Email booking with the consulate will be discontinued for some categories.
Requests must be made exclusively through the BLS website by selecting category ORAN 4, particularly for:
- Extended family members of Spanish or EU citizens (grandparents, adult children, nephews, etc.)
- Family members of third-country nationals legally residing in Spain Required documents:
- TIE or DNI of the inviting person,
- Civil status document legalized by Algerian MFA and translated,
- Invitation letter from Spanish police (dated within 3 months),
- Applicant’s passport.
7. Daily Online Release of New Time Slots
From Saturday, September 7, 2024, new appointment slots will be opened daily at 8 p.m. on the BLS website for the Oran center.
